Porto Cervo - Luke Domenici's Mephisto won with a huge show of force at the fifth and last stage of the Audi Melges 20 Sailing Series in Porto Cervo.

The winning streak was ended for one of the best teams of the season, the impressive Value Team of Benedetto Giallongo, who had won all the four previous races of circuit. Value Team can still smile for the second-place finish at this race (the "worst result" of their season), which brought the crew of Giallongo to finally get their hands on the trophy for the first edition of the Audi Melges 20 Sailing Series.

The event, organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, was also attended by Melges 32 owners who raced for the first time aboard the Audi Melges 20.

Fausto Rubbini took only one day to become familiar with the little Audi Melges 20 and today, after the surprising second place in the only trial held yesterday, has taken third place. Thule takes the podium right behind Mephisto and Value Team.

Antonello Morina with Sie Tu and Savino Formentini's Bitipi, two other well-known names in the Melges 32 fleet, closed the Melges 20 Sailing Series in fourth and fifth place, while Carlo Alberini's Calvi Network closes eighth.

The overall ranking of Audi Melges 20 Sailing Series 2009 after 5 races sees the success of Value Team in front of Mephisto and Renato Vallivero's Turnover. Luca Lalli's Be Lin Sailing (absent at this race) and Federico Albano's 3Menda (seventh in Porto Cervo) complete the set of the five best sailors overall in the Audi Melges 20 Sailing Series 2009.
