The Audi Melges 20 Is On The Move

Great news has just arrived from Melges headquarters in Zenda, Wisconsin: Audi Melges 20 production will now officially take place in the USA. The first series of boats were produced by McConaghy, a very reputable builder and their efforts are greatly appreciated as they have helped put the Audi Melges 20 on the map.

Moving production back to the U.S. will potentially allow for higher availability and quicker delivery. Right now, it’s important to have production pumping in the USA. The Melges Team is excited about this transition and ready to take this fast, fun and truly exciting sportboat to the next level.

Join Melges Performance Sailboats on congratulating this young and growing fleet as it celebrates the very first Audi Melges 20 U.S. National Championship on August 21-23, hosted by the Macatawa Bay Yacht Club in Macatawa, Michigan. In Europe, great things are happening too as everyone focuses on the forthcoming final event of the Audi Melges 20 Sailing Series in Porto Cervo, Italy on September 19-20.

The 2009 Audi Melges 20 U.S. National Championship takes place on August 21-23, hosted by the Macatawa Bay Yacht Club in Macatawa, Michigan. Title sponsored by Audi and supported by Official Footwear Sponsor Sebago, this event is going to be awesome! As many as 15 are expected to race and the entrants are traveling from not only across the country, but from around the world. Don’t wait until the last minute to get your entry in. Audi Melges 20 Sailing Series 2009 Concludes in Porto Cervo on September 19-20, Giallongo Seated Firmly In The Lead

The fifth and final regatta of the Audi Melges 20 Sailing Series will take place on September 19-20 in elegant Porto Cervo, Italy, hosted by the prestigious Yacht Club Costa Smeralda.

After a fourth consecutive win, Benedetto Giallongo on Value Team is the man to beat. This is a tough, competitive fleet in which at each passing regatta, Giallongo has proven to be unbeatable! Thus far his greatest competition has come from Luca Domenici on Mefisto, Renato Vallivero on Turnover and Luca Lalli on Be Lin Sailing, all respectively positioned second, third and fourth. Rounding out the top five is Claudio Recchi on Team 93.
